JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Location: Pleasant Grove, UT, Las Vegas, NV or Palo Alto, CA

 
NOTE: Local candidates preferred. Face to face may be required.


RESPONSIBILITES:

*Operate dense and expansive datacenter network installations, requiring 24/7 accessibility
*Collaborate with a team to architect and engineer elastic cloud networks
*Hands on implementation, maintaining, and troubleshooting of these complex networks
*Provide innovative suggestions for complex implementation solutions
*Perform technology assessment and requirements analysis to develop proper solutions for internal/external PoC's
*Collaborate with other engineering and operations teams working toward shared goals
*Identify implementation inefficiencies and suggest/implement corrective changes
*Work with NOC to confirm monitoring systems are kept up to date
*Document concise pre-deployment and post-deployment plans and review with team for all configuration changes
*May prepare and maintain operating procedures and associated documentation
*Ability to deliver concise verbal or written instructions to Data Center Operations team or facility remotehands
*Stay abreast of current technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge and research


REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Capable of preparing detailed build / test plans to implement new technologies/configurations
*Working experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS platforms
*Capable of architecting, implementing and troubleshooting complex switching and routing deployments:
- Cisco VSS / vPC, port-channels (N*10Gbps), trunking, svclc/firewall, and spanning tree (MST/PVST)
- IPv4, HSRP/VRRP, OSPF v2, BGP v4, MPLS, and VRF
*Experience building and implementing dense core/edge networks utilizing Cisco Nexus 2000/5000/7000 switches
*Experience with deploying and interconnecting with Cisco UCS blade platform
*Experience using Data Center routers and switches (Cisco 2800/2900/3500/3700/6500/7600)
*Capable of implementing ASA/IOS/NX-OS configurations via CLI or central configuration management
*Experience with firewall implementations (layering, DMZ, SNAT/DNAT):
- Cisco ACL's, Cisco ASA / FWSM (CLI and/or CSM managed), and Vyatta *Experience with software and hardware load balancers:
- Cisco ACE, F5, and Zeus, with Zeus highly preferred.

*Ability to collaborate with a team working across multiple sites
*Ability to span and focus on multiple projects, without requiring micro management


DESIRED SKILLS:

*Experience with IPv6, OSPF v3, and BGP v6
*Experience with Arista 7100 and 7500 switches
*Experience with SAN FCoE using dedicated SAN switches and tie-in's to Nexus platorm
*Linux experience (network stack, iptables, tcpdump/wireshark)
*Windows Server 2008
*Cisco Security Manager
*Scripting experience (configuration management)
