Job Title: Business Analyst (BI and Data warehouse)
Project Duration: 12 months+.
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Summary of Position
The senior business analyst works to understand business needs and processes and to act as a liaison between the business and the technical team. They are responsible for understanding complex business processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and coordinating communication among various business groups and IT technical teams. The person in this position will be able to confidently work with individuals at all levels in the organization.
Key Requirements
• Demonstrated strong communication and relationship skills
• Demonstrated ability to partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define and document requirements, and drive solutions
• Demonstrated ability to develop detailed project requests or charters which include project objectives, success criteria, and requirements
• Experience in identifying opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies
• Demonstrated ability maintain clear communication channels with IT and business stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate complex interpersonal and political issues. Primary Responsibilities
• Work with a diverse business community to understand how multiple business processes interact. Make recommendations for BI solutions which address the larger business environment.
• Work with a diverse business community to document as-is and to-be business processes.
• Document clear and testable requirements which describe a system which will be implemented.
• Recommend business process and system changes to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
• Ensure clear communication between business stakeholders and IT technical teams. Key Knowledge Areas
• Experience navigating complex interpersonal and business relationships is required.
• Experience with process mapping is required.
• Experience documenting Information requirements using dimensional modeling and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.
• Knowledge of large scale business intelligence and data warehousing system is required.
• Ability to understand, evaluate, and recommend changes to complex business processes is required.
• Ability to understand, evaluate, and recommend changes to analytical models is required
• Experience working in a regulated environment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies is strongly preferred. Education Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent. Directly Manage People No Budget Management No Travel 10%
***REQUIRED:
5 years Minimum of experience required, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration preferred, Specific hardware/software experience required: Data warehouse and reporting tools; Microsoft BI preferred Top 3 qualifications you are looking for in a candidate: They are responsible for understanding complex business processes, eliciting and documenting requirements, and coordinating communication among various business groups and IT technical teams.++ --Day in the Life/Project Information: The business analyst will work the business Quality Team to understand and document their Complaint Handling System reporting priorities and requirements. This person will then work with the Business Intelligence Development Team to build, test and launch the reporting solutions-- ++PMP certification HIGHLY preferred but not required++
