| Job/Project Description: | As a Sr. Data Analyst, the candidate will be responsible for the detailed analysis of source system data sets for movement into a data warehouse and validation of the data movement from source to target. The Data Analyst will work with business analysts, data architect and technical staff to collect, analyze, and discover data patterns to determine the data quality and remediation steps required to successfully source, map and transform data into target data warehouse system. Data sources include SAP transactional, upstream oil and gas operational systems, master data, as well as relational databases and possible flat file inputs. Additionally, the data analyst will work with source system data patterns to assist overall unit projects. The qualified applicant will work closely with ETL team to ensure the rules to be designed and implemented in the ETL transformation layer.
*Previous Oil & Gas Industry experience would be preferred*

Applicant may also assist in data reconciliation for any data discrepancies found between source systems and integrated data.
Responsibilities: • Work with clients and business analysts to understand data requirement • Assist with the creation of requirements documents and functional specifications • Profile and analyze data sources and establish data profiling plans to validate data sources against requirements • Perform source to target gap analysis by collaborating with business analyst, data owners, and business partners. • One of the primary responsibilities is to design and deliver data profiling result reports, both one-time and for ongoing quality controls • Create source to target mapping documents including data dictionary for target tables/fields -cross reference map of source file and fields to target tables and columns including any Assist data architect in converting Business Rules into ETL transformation with clear rejection guidance or parsing that may be implemented as part of the Data file load process • Help communicate rejection rules to ETL developers and ensure ETL transformation is properly implemented through design/implementation phases • Participate in defining solutions for data quality issues • Help data architect to create data flow diagrams to communicate complex transformation maps • Develop test cases to help ensure data delivery meets business requirements • Assist with the definition of business and technical terms and definitions • Work with data architects in data modeling and data warehouse design • Have primary responsibility for validating data as it flows through ETL process to ultimate target destination • Help data architect maintain Business Glossaries and Data Dictionaries |
