Data Architect - PDW

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills

Should be able to translate business requirements to data model design

Should have designed database objects for PDW - SQL server 2012

Expert in data cleansing activities, data governance and building logical data models

Enterprise level experience with Business Intelligence projects

Design physical database objects (tables, views, indexes) to support normalized and dimensional models.

Familiar with Teradata environment and Microsoft BI environments

Design and instantiation of the physical data model in the data warehouse / data marts.

Demonstrated analytical and communication capabilities

Ability to prioritize assignments, handles shifting deadlines, and work independently as well as in a team environment.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an understanding of existing and emerging technologies.

Ability to prioritize workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and manage business expectations.

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills     

Experience in Data modelling tools like Power Designer data modeller will be considered plus

An understanding of Retail Reporting and/or Retail Concepts

Familiarity with SQL programming; preferably Teradata SQL, however knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server or other RDBMS systems will also be considered

Total experience in required skill (years)               8+
