Sr. Storage Engineer

Location:  St. Louis, MO

Start Date:  ASAP
Duration:  5+ months

Compensation:  $50/hr


Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field 

Experience: (5) years of storage systems engineering experience using EMC technologies. 
Licensure/Credentials: 

• Skills/Abilities: 
• EMC DMX administration experience 
• EMX Vmax administration experience preferred 
• Excellent customer service skills. 
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. 
• The competence, knowledge and information necessary to complete their role. 
• The ability to use, understand and interpret the best practice, policies and procedures to ensure adherence. 
• Have practical and quantifiable process management experience. 
• Ability to work with multiple infrastructure teams in order to achieve project goals 
• An ability to run a meeting according to strict guidelines (not to get side-tracked on items that one person may be interested in). 
• Accurately and effectively analyze metrics produced from an activity and provide potential recommendations for improvement 
• Strong Unix background preferred Interpersonal Skills: Must have strong attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required with the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment. 

1. The design, development of enterprise data storage solutions for various projects using EMC technology. 
2. Management of online storage, which includes allocation, placement, access, retention, archiving, backup and restore, and offsite storage. 
3. Utilize Timefinder and SRDF-A in multi-terabyte database environment in order to meet replication and DR requirements. 
4. Act as a liaison to other departments on all technical matters related to storage management. 
5. Generate management required utilization reports detailing capacity, performance, application utilization, etc. 
6. Perform routine capacity planning of storage infrastructure (i.e. Storage frames, SAN switches, etc.) 
7. Maintenance of storage environments, scheduling of firmware updates and hardware procedures. 
8. Work with administration teams across the enterprise to understand and meet their SAN requirements. 
9. Design, Implementation and Management of enterprise disaster recovery. Planning tasks for storage infrastructure
