Position: :Linux Administrator with Puppet/SaltStack or similar
Location: San Antonio, TX
Start: ASAP
Duration: More than Six (6) + months

Linux Administrator with Puppet/SaltStack or similar is must

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: 

•    Assists with architecting solutions using OpenStack and related technologies.
•    Load tests customer applications to assist with performance tuning and capacity planning.
•    Contributes to open source tools that assist in configuration management, deployment and operation of high-availability, high-performance applications.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY: 

•    Expert web programming and scripting ability.
•    Expert automation skills with Puppet/SaltStack or similar.
•    Knowledge of Open Cloud APIs and SDKs.
•    Broad knowledge of the following with deep knowledge of several: PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Memcached, LAMP, nginx, node.js, Linux, git.
•    Working knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, and continuous integration.


EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience. 
• Experience with high-availability, high-performance, open source web technologies. 
• Experience with cloud platforms and caching layers.
• Five (5) + years commercial experience as a Linux Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  General office environment. 

•    May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. 
•    Moderate levels of stress may occur at times.  No special physical demands required.
