This position's specific responsibilities include:
· Defining and communicating technical architecture strategies and directions: developing standards; leading and participating in strategic initiatives; providing technical leadership skills while maintaining currency in development technologies; and educating customers (internal and external) on technologies used to provide solutions.
· Analyzing and designing technology-based solutions adapting software to meet business needs, based on analyzing business problems and requirements to understand what the system needs to do. Employing functional analysis, software design and modeling techniques to translate the business needs into technical implementation designs/specifications.
· Defining and creating technology solutions, evaluating solution options, costs and implementation strategies to deliver solutions that attain business objectives and align with the enterprise architecture framework. Developing and communicating technical implementation instructions for the development and implementation of software/system solutions to system implementers/developers.
· Testing and validating that the system/software meet and function as designed, meet business requirements, and adhere to established quality standards and are simple to use.
· Working with the business and technical resource teams to understand the business requirements and develop technical strategies for solution delivery including negotiating technical solutions that align with business objectives. Defining and documenting system/software architecture through the gathering of requirements from business departments or through reverse engineering of existing data facilities in support of business initiated projects.
· Interfacing between business, applications and data administration on system related issues, documenting application processes and software and implementation architecture, and enforcing application/system standards, policy and procedure compliance.
· Managing and controlling project risks including project tracking and informational reporting and risk mitigation practices.
· Managing, coaching and mentoring development staff in the overall solution delivery.
