An amazing opportunity to get involved in cutting-edge consumer web technologies, build next-generation web applications with a focus on the client side. Responsibilities include redesigning UI's, implementing new UI's, and working in Java as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Engineers the next generation customer-facing web sites
- Creates technical specifications and technical architecture documentation
- Participates in the discovery process of projects, and provides strategic/technical input on requirements documentation and other project documentation
- Writes code / participates in the development effort???
- Conducts full quality assurance testing prior to submitting work
- Assists in maintaining existing software
- Proposes innovative solutions when technical issues arise during the development effort
- Shares best practices and technical knowledge and performs periodic code reviews
- Participates in project planning sessions (sprint planning sessions, creation of work breakdown structures, etc.)
- Identifies project risks/issues and proposes mitigation strategies?
Key Experience:
- 9+ years of systems analysis and programming experience including the role of Lead Developer on customer-facing web sites
- 6+ years of experience in systems design and technical architecture
- 6+ years of experience with full software project lifecycle including all stages of design, development and implementation of custom applications as well as the deployment of packaged solutions
- Experience in application development utilizing a relational database such as Oracle or Sybase
- Understanding of the systems and applications used in the telecommunications, entertainment and retail industries
- Well educated in marketing design, e-commerce, content management and personalization/targeting
Technical/Functional Competencies:
- Works within a modern web development environment using Spring MVC, grails, Maven, test-driven development, continuous integration, etc.
- Programming/scripting language and operating system expertise consisting of, but not limited to the following; JAVA, J2EE, EJB, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, HTML5, SQL, XML, UNIX, Solaris, Windows NT, and object oriented languages
- Web/App server expertise consisting of, but not limited to the following: ATG Dynamo, ATG e-commerce, BCC, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache
- Experiences with SOAP and REST web services (both client- and server-side)
- Experience with issue-tracking systems (especially JIRA), a plus
- Experience working within Subversion, a plus
- Knowledge of HTML 5, Javascript, CSS, and Flash, a plus
- Knowledge of databases and database design, a plus
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, extensive and related technical, systems level experience
