Job Title: ETL Tester
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Positions: 4 Positions
Required Skills:
4+ years of experience testing business intelligence solutions and related components
3+ years experience in testing web services, preferably with a large scale e-commerce system
Expert in the Test definition, test design, test documentation, test execution, test coverage traceability and the test process.
Experience writing testing cases for web services using SoapUI
Strong experience with MS SQL server databases and Financials
Knowledge of architectural tool components, dashboards
Skills in data warehouse methodology; data analysis, modeling and design; and ETL testing using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2005/2008.
Knowledge of relational and dimensional data models, as well as relational databases and excellent SQL skills.
Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services Cubes (SSAS) is required.
Understanding of data rollups/aggregation, capacity planning, data standardization, slowly changing dimensions and data security
Ability to design and execute test scripts and plans for unit, integration, regression and UAT testing processes
Excellent Documentation skills from a technical and Analytical set of documentation scope related to the testing team and its efforts.
Experience working with Source control systems, Vault / Subversion or similar.
Experience working with Agile Project Management tools, Mingle or similar.
Experience a plus but not required – Ant, Jenkins
Experience working with defect management tools and processes.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills and be a great team player.
Must demonstrate a flexibility to multi task and able to handle multiple priorities at the same time not compromising on Quality levels.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the full life-cycle of the test phase of a project from its kick off until delivery and readiness to be deployed to Production
Perform test task estimation, test execution, Regression testing, Functional testing, automated testing where possible.
Work with the teams closely to progress the testing toward realistic achievable milestones.
Testing features and defect fixes to new and existing backend web services
Create and execute manual and automated tests, document testing practices, and communicate results/recommendations to team.
Responsible for testing of business intelligence reporting solutions developed using SQL / T-SQL and Reporting Services.
Responsible for testing of the ETL solutions developed using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2005 / 2008 and SQL / T-SQL.
Develop and maintain the manual and automated test scripts, functions / SQL code.
Develop complex SQL queries using querying tools and SQL/T-SQL and relational database manipulation.
