Rate: 60-65/hr all inclusive
Today they have Avamar and DPA(Data Protection Advisor) in America, so those are the two primary skills the person should have. They only have one Avamar/DPA admin (who also has other responsibilities) so his time is limited, and a number of issues have gone unresolved.
They also have Avamar and Data Domain in Australia, so Avamar interfacing to Data Domain would be a plus.
They backup St. Louis Avamar clients to a grid in St. Louis, and replicate that to a DR site in Philadelphia. Today they are not able to replicate all their clients because there is not enough bandwidth. They may be able to improve this with multiple replication threads, but they need help setting that up. They may need more bandwidth, but they need somebody to figure out what their requirements are so they can make the case for what they need.
They also have a lot of remote sites with limited bandwidth, and they are trying to use Avamar to back up those sites to St. Louis. They need somebody who can figure out the amount of data to be backed up at each site, how much bandwidth is going to be required to back it up, and can work with their Backup and Network Teams to get the backups successful from those sites.
They need to migrate from DPA 5 (Data Protection Advisor) to DPA 6.
They bought additional DPA licenses for their TSM and Netbackup licenses, so they need to configure that environment.
They have a few basic DPA reports for the Avamar admin, but they need a bigger variety of Avamar reports that will be useful to operators, admins, and managers.
They need somebody who is able to communicate with the Team around them and write status reports and/or presentations to show progress made.
