Job Description

The Appli­cation Developer, Master role in Test Data Management organization will be responsible for analyzing test data needs and developing applications and tools to support these needs for integrated systems at Capital One using existing and emerging technology platforms.

In this role the resource will be aligned to a specific business area and shall work with various program/project teams to ensure that accurate test data requirements are captured and perform an impact assessment of data flow across various Capital One systems. The resource will work closely with the business system analysts, tech leads and test leads on the project team to guide them on the correct approach for delivering data for testing needs. The resource will be supporting the test data needs for several agile sprint teams and be a part of the system team serving test data needs for a release train. Additionally the resource will be working with TDM test data analysts, third party contractors, and QA teams during testing.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

Build an end-to-end vision of the integrated systems and translate into test data needs.

Develop solutions that enable faster and better test data creation before testing starts.

Build self service solutions using existing and emerging technologies and enable the development and testing teams to create and load test data on their own.

Create and maintain system and environment landscape, data flow diagrams and data definitions.

Actively participate in the TDM agile development sprint team and deliver valuable products for end users.

Address issues with Data movement (Validation, Clean-up and Mapping) during testing.

Develop integrated test data creation strategy for all platforms involved in the project or release.

Understand changes to the environments and reflect them in test data creation processes.

Identify and mitigate data integrity issues while testing across multiple integrated systems.

Automate data creation, setup and implement automated refresh for regression ready test data.

Actively lead, support and review the work of other developers and TDM engineers on the team.

 

Job Qualifications

Required:

·         5 years of experience in IT industry with Data Analyst/Architecture/Data Modeling background.

·         2 years of experience developing in an Agile Scrum environment.

·         Excellent knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems and/or Data Modeling concepts.

·         1 year of scripting experience with Automation tools (such as VB, QTP, and Selenium).

 

Preferred:

·         IBM Optim, AbInitio and Version One tools knowledge is a plus.

·         Knowledge of programming in UNIX, MVS/Mainframe systems, ETL and SQL technologies.

·         Knowledge of various database technologies (DB2, Teradata, Oracle, SQL server, Big data/Hadoop)

·         Knowledge of data masking/scrubbing/obfuscation techniques

·         Proficiency in MS Office and Visio

 

Education Requirements:

·                     Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines.

·                     Master's Degree in above is preferred.
